Personal Injury/Wrongful Death

Technically speaking, an injury is any wrong or damage done to another, either in his person, rights, reputation, or property. Personal injury is damage to a man's person, such as a cut or bruise, a broken limb, or the like. Personal injury lawsuits frequently stem from automobile accidents and the damages suffered by either a driver or passenger in a vehicle which has been struck. Where the resulting injuries have been caused by the negligence or carelessness of another, the injured party may be entitled to compensation for his or her injuries.

A wrongful death action is usually brought by certain beneficiaries (such as a spouse, parent, or child) against a person who negligently caused thedeath of another.
